Hi,

I would be glad to see Embraer E170/190 in my Topcat especially now when we are getting Wilco E-jets in our hangar  :)

+1 and also the E135/E145. I nearly took out the landing lights at KJAC after attempting a flaps 9 takeoff when flaps 45 would have been required.

I see. But why not use the values that aerosoft use real or not? This is a simulation after all not real life. I just think with the PFPX soon available that having topcat compatible too will great enhanced the realism for people using this addon and especially those flying for VA's and online. Would you not agree?

I personally agree 100%

As many simmers are are searching for the "as real as it gets" experience, what would be "more real" than using the performance figures that actually match the aircraft you fly? Two give you an example:

If a (real world) airline pilot has to do the takeoff and landing calculations for his flight (A320), does he want to numbers to match his real world A320 or the Aerosoft's simulated version?

For a layman, the answer is simple, you want to use data that matches, as closely as possible, to the aircraft you are flying.

For "as real as it gets" pilots it seems to be the other way around. You "need" to use real world data even if it doesn't match your simulated aircraft's performance (, which you wouldn't do in the real world). Or are real world flights calculated based on data extracted from FSX? ;)

TL;DR I would prefer/like the TOPCAT data to be based on the simulated aircrafts, not the real ones. This would be a step closer to real life operations, when flying in the simulator.

Jap,

Or you could just use the upcoming FSL A320... Which exactly matches the real-world counterpart.

@Jet_Jock:

You are absolutely correct. The ultimate simming experience would be having the aircraft, TOPCAT (and soon PFPX) match the RW performance figures.

Am I right to say, that the PMDG's NGX is already extremely close performance vice, but TOPCAT profile is work in progress (according to the AoA videos, the NGX has more thrust available than the TOPCAT version, or something to that effect)?

FSL's A320 sounds extremely promising!

Are there other simulated aircrafts that are "close enough" to their RW counterparts?

Jet_jock: are you just totally against the aerosoft???? I mean many people have asked for it to made comparable with TOPCAT and you just dismiss every attemp to request it?

Forgive me for asking but do you work for TOPCAT?  i.e. Dev, programmer or publisher?

Compare Topcat Airbus Profile with LPC-NG and you can see TOPCAT calculates wrong Vspeed....

There once was a topcat profile file for the AXE A320 on the Aerosoft Forum, which got removed later. I should have this one at home - will have a look later.

Edit: You use the file at your own risk!

Are there any thoughts to getting the -7B24 engine option for the 737-700 instead of only the -7B22?  I imagine most people here are going to be flying the PMDG variety which uses the -7B24.

I do have some real EFB/ToDC for B737-800 and B733, both B733W and B738 with or without SFP installed..

Some of the TOPCAT calculates wrong vspeeds, they are maybe 1-3 knots more than the real ToDC I have for the real planes :)
