CG Trim Value
« on: October 16, 2014, 09:51:02 PM »
In the TAKEOFF REF page of the PMDG B738 FMS, it awaits a percentage value for CG Trim.
Does Topcat calculate and provide this information?

Am I correct in assuming that the 3 percentages given in the W&B Summary are CG values (ZFW, TOW and LW)? If so, for the purposes of take-off, which CG value would be used? First instinct would be the TOW value.

TopCat indeed provide you with the percentage for CG trim. It is displayed in the W&B tab behind each of the three W&B summaries. As it is displayed in front of each acronym DOW stands for Dry Operating Weight (weight of the plane itself without fuel, cargo and/or passengers), ZFW which stands for Zero Fuel Weight (the weight of the plane itself with passengers and cargo but without any fuel), TOW which stands for Take Off Weight (weight of the loaded plane at the moment of take off which the total weight of the plane after deduction of the taxi fuel) and LDW which stands for LanDing Weight (which is the weight of the plane after the trip fuel has been burned).

Behind the latter three weights you can see the CG%. You indeed have to take the TOW CG% to enter into your FMC before the flight.

Greetings,

Theo.
