777 D-TO2
« on: March 29, 2014, 04:49:47 PM »
First I must express my greatest appreciation for you guys getting the 777 data out. I personally know how time consuming it is, and the amount of dedication required to create a PFPX aircraft profile let alone takeoff and landing data for TOPCAT which requires much more data.

Now I know this is just initial release and maybe you have more work to do on the performance file, but I notice that no matter what configuration I choose e.g. almost empty takeoff weight off a long runway with flat terrain, using optimum flap and power setting, I can never get it to give a TO2 result, the lowest it will go is TO1 with an assumed temperature of +70. I have to manually select TO2. Is this a little bug or is this by design to never use TO2? I have no problem with this personally as I will just select it manually and use it, I just wanted to know what is going on with this.
Kind regards,
Bryan

Nope sent a ticket over a week ago no response. Could you see if you could duplicate these results in the attached pdf. D-TO1 is the exact same as D-TO2 which makes absolutely no sense to me.

Kind regards,
Bryan

Hello,

Did you see flaps settings are different for D-TO1 (5) and D-TO2 (20) and Vspeeds are aslo different (153-157 157 164 2758ft vs. 144-146 146 151 2785ft)
Only N1% are the same explained  by flaps settings.

Best regards
Pierre

Thanks for the response pierre. I was mainly pointing out the fact that the N1 values for DTO1 and DTO2 appear to be the same for the same Assumed temperature value. Based on my understanding on how it works, a 20% reduction in total thrust (DTO2) shouldnt produce the same N1 at the same temperature (+51) as DTO1 (a 10% reducting in thrust). But i figure since its still in beta I dont expect it to be entirely perfect.
Kind regards,
Bryan
