Hi Jon, it was not a disappointment, it was just compared to how much data comes out of the PEP I was a little shocked.

You mention some kind of converter, if I were to send you the data in a text file (large) would you program be able to reformat it to the PFPX format?

It will already take me several hours to remove the data from PEP into a text format for a single Airbus/Engine combination.

I propose to do the A320 family first as there is a really good addon in the works for that aircraft.

Pierre,

Do you (flightsimsoft) have a FTP? I have finished running the data off for the A320-214 CFM56-5B4 - SAC/P the file covers:

Climb, cruise, descent, holding, 1EO. Cost Index 0, 5, 12, 50 and Mach 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79 through the full flight profile minimum flight weight up to 90,000 KG for ISA - 70 to ISA + 40 and wind conditions -200 to + 200.

The files itself (.txt) is about 300 mb

Hello Jet_Lock,

we do have Access to Airbus PEP Outputs as well. Presently, we are working on a converter to extract these data in PFPX-compatible format. Once this is done, also the Airbus type airplane types will have cost index added.

Btw.: The Impact on fuel/time calculations by using a huge amunt of data is negligible compared to a profile just using a basic set of data.

Ok thx.

I am about to read the manual at the moment so i am at first steps to find solutions with less workload for the following issue:

I want to use PFPX also for low level airway GA IFR flights. I do not really need that massive specific aircraft profile´s details. So first of all i want to get an auto route within aircraft specific max altitude restrictions and RNAV/NON RNAV. I want to enter a cruising speed and a vertical climb speed so the auto route generation can take care of when i will reach the minimum airway altitude for entering the first airway fix at present winds.

Maybe i want to generate a simple route for an Cessna 172 IFR flight:
I reckon when i preselect any aircraft from the aircraft list (e.g.A318) and modify the cruising level/cruising speed in "General/Aircraft tab to 120kias - It's not exactly brilliant i suppose.
What specific "A318" things gets calculated in the background while generating a auto route? Maybe some restrictions due to specific A318 things?

If i do not have a C172 to preselect, how can i easily get a normal auto route that is not restricted by any things i do not need?

Was that simple case not part at the beta test? Does any beta tester maybe has an idea?

Again, i do not want to know that PFPX is basically made for complex and/or performance based computered aircrafts, i know. It is absolutely amazing and should get one of "the most professional releases of the year".
But that program should easily give me the chance to use it as requested above, it would be a shame if not.

So i need support.

Kind regards

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble with a flight LOWS-EDDL using the ATR 72 which is leading to an "error in performance file: Mode=Cruise, Weight=22669, Altitude=2000, Fuel=2784" error message.
I didn't change the file provided in the release but it looks to me that due to the first value being 4000ft in the normal cruise tables PFPX has troubles extra-polating the performance down (I have no clue why PFPX wants to cruise at 2000 ft...). The other performance files I checked had values for even for cruise in 0 ft...?!
Is that the reason - did that issue already show up?
Routing: SIMB6V SIMBA Y700 ABABI N871 GONBA L610 BIBEG L604 MASEK Z52 ARPEG Z850 ADEMI T854 DOMUX DOMU2G (AIRAC 1302 still on for testing).

Cheers
Michael

PS: There is also an error in the file regarding the aircraft itself - it looks like it should be an ATR 72-500 instead of ATR 72-200 like in the "aircraft type" field.

I had trouble with a flight from Atlanta to Birmingham  this afternoon.   It wouldn't let me have the MD-83 cruise any higher than 2000 feet.   I don't think that would be high enough to clear the TV antennas on Red Mountain.   Of course, the flight passes by Mt. Cheaha, the state's highest point at 2,407 feet MSL.

Hi Michael,

That route just ran fine for me on the ATR, with OPT selected; however I have not yet installed the release version of PFPX. Try a manual cruise level and see if it works OK, between FL190 and FL210 would be normal cruise altitude on most sectors.

Not sure what you mean about the error in the file - ATR72-212A is the official type designation of the 72-500 (and also the -600 just to be confusing).

What aircrafts are in the "to do list"?

I want to make a profile of some aircraft (I know it's a lot of work), soo I do not want to do double work.

Hi,
i try to push my request upward so it does not get lost at these many posts at a short time.

I am delayed to use PFPX like i want it to use since i bought it. Will there be no solution option for me?

Kind regards
