Hello Koen,

it seems that TOPCAT is correctly connected with WideFS and Flightsim is correctly connected with FSUIPC.
But there seems to be a connection problem between FSUIPC and WideFS.

As guitaman already wrote: if you switch Flightsim to window mode (non-fullscreen -> ALT+Enter) you shjould see either 'waiting for connection' or '1 connection'. If it says - what I assume - 'waiting for connection' there is a problem between FSUIPC and WideFS. That's a job for Pete Dowson from FSUIPC. Take a look at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

@Kurby: Thanks for the info, that did the trick.

We weren't able to reproduce the reported behaviour because of the class config thing. So, you need to setup the correct configuration in the PMDG load editor first, before using TOPCAT for updating airplane load.

Thereafter, things should work fine. Once you need to change the layout again, use the PMDG load editor first.

Dear Brad,

there are two options to update the TOPCAT calculated weights with your Level D add-on:

Option 1 - via FSUIPC

You need: One device with Flightsim and TOPCAT connected via FSUIPC - or - two devices, one runnning Flightsim and the other one running TOPCAT connected via FSUIPC and WideFS.

How it works: Have the LevelD 767 running in Flightsim and use the TOPCAT 'W&B/Export/Send' function. Your fuel/weight data are updated on the fly. No need to restart Flightsim or to reload the Level D 767. However, once you restart Flightsim or you reload the Level D 767, all changes are gone.

Option 2 - save to aircraft.cfg

You need: TOPCAT needs to modify the aircraft.cfg file of your LevelD 767. For this, write access to your Flightsim directory is required. If TOPCAT and Flightsim are running on the same device, that's no problem. If TOPCAT is running on a different device, you need to setup file access to your Flightsim Directory via network. Be sure to have write privileges, otherwise TOPCAT can't modify the aircraft.cfg file.

How it works: Before loading the Level D 767 in Flightsim use the TOPCAT 'W&B/Export/Save' function. Your fuel/weight data are written into the selected aircraft.cfg file. Now load the Level D 767 in Flightsim. Once you restart Flightsim or you reload the Level D 767 the selected weights are retained.

Hello, all

Great job on this software, I really enjoy the added realism it brings to my flights.

I have noticed that the refuelling for the airsimmer airbus needs to be fixed: in the fight simulator refuelling window the inner wing tanks (the ones with 5.5t) are labelled aux tanks and the outer wing tanks (the ones with 700+ kg) are labelled the main tanks. Topcat seems to assume it is the other way around, leading to fuel uploads which are way too low.

regards!

I am sure this post is redundant, however could not locate the info I need.

My attempts to update the Level-D 767-300 config file fails.  I read page 48 of the manual but something is not right.

What file does Topcat update for the Level D?  How does Topcat locate the correct file?

From reading the directions, Topcat updates a config file is FSX.  It is then important to restart FSX to load the updated file?

Thanks for you help,

Brad

I would be very grateful if the iFly 737NG range were incorporated into TOPCAT   Smiley

Koen,

As a test, start FS9 on the desktop and go to the panel of an aircraft.  Check if you have "waiting for connection" in the title bar of FS9.  If so, start wideFS on the laptop and wait.  Check the title bar of FS9 again and look if you have "1 connection" in it.  If so, Topcat must work.  If you don't have the messages on the title bar, you must first arrange that you have connection between the desktop and the laptop.  WideFS server must be installed on the desktop and WideFS client on the laptop.  By the way, you must start wideFS before starting Topcat.

Hope this helps.

Peter
